iCP IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING DIRECTORS FOR THE 2018-2019 ICP-CIP COMMITTEE TEAM!

Below is a list of positions and their descriptions. If you are interested in running for a position click the link down below by May 5th, 2018!  All positions are elected positions. Elections will be held at ICP’s Spring General Meeting on May 7th , 2018 at 4pm, GSD room 307. If you are unable to attend the general election, please email admin@icp-cip.com with your statement of interest and which position you are applying for.

High School Liaison Subcommittee Director (1 director)
 

Main tasks:
• Chair the high school subcommittee
• Delegate tasks to subcommittee members and ensure their completion
• Attend and contribute to Board of Directors meetings
• Organize ICP’s HS stream
• Communicate with high schools in the Ottawa/Gatineau region
• Recruit teachers and classes to attend HS stream
• Develop and prepare a program for HS school stream
• Coordinate with other subcommittees
• Coordinate with HS stream partners and sponsors

2018-2019 Objectives:
 Further develop HS students’ mini-presentation program at ICP
 Continue to provide the HS stream for both Francophone and Anglophone
students
 Maintain and develop more partnerships with other organizations

Logistics Subcommittee Director (2 co-directors)


Main tasks:
• Chair the logistics subcommittee
• Delegate tasks to subcommittee members and ensure their completion
• Attend and contribute to Board of Directors meetings
• Contact potential keynote speakers, liaise with them about their
presentation and stay
• Find a debate/discussion panel topic; contact and liaise with potential
speakers
• Organize and coordinate social events
• Create conference schedule
• Book conference rooms and catering services
• Oversee conference registration
• Coordinate with other subcommittees


2018-2019 Objectives:
 Find keynote speakers and discussion panel speakers as early as
possible
 Improve attendance to social events

Peer-Review Subcommittee Director (1 co-director)
 

Main tasks:
• Chair the peer-review subcommittee
• Delegate tasks to subcommittee members and ensure their completion
• Attend and contribute to Board of Directors meetings
• Coordinate peer review process
• Recruit professors to be peer reviewers
• Train members on how to review abstracts
• Manage the peer review platform
• Review abstracts
• Send results to applicants
• Create conference program book

2018-2019 Objectives:
 Expend scientific committee members & mentorship program
 Update scoring grids (e.g., one for symposium)
 Finalize peer review platform transition

Publicity co-Director (1 co-director)

Main Tasks:
 Chair the publicity subcommittee
 Delegate tasks to subcommittee members and ensure their completion
 Attend and contribute to Board of Directors meetings
 Print and coordinate distribution of posters
 Coordinate with graphic designers
 Promote conference to other universities
 Promote conference to other disciplines
 Promote conference on social media
 Purchase merchandise
 Oversee website management
 Oversee translation services

2018-2019 Objectives:
 Increase involvement/presence of non-psychology departments
 Increase social media presence
 Increase professor involvement and attendance
